Business & Rental Property Owner Registration Information

We are in the second year of the Business / Rental Registration. The registration is for ALL businesses and rental property owners. Rental property terms are defined as 12 months and under (ex. vacation rental) and 12 months and over. This is an annual registration, so please put this on your radar to avoid penalty fees. You can obtain the application by clicking the following link https://www.longbeachtownship.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/2025-Business-and-Rental-application-updated.pdf, or by coming into the Long Beach Township Municipal Clerk’s office.  

All business and rental property applications are due no later than April 1st annually.  In 2024, we gave leniency to those who did not comply as we know not everyone may have been aware of the new ordinance. Now that we are in our second year, applications received after April 1, 2025, will be subject to additional late filing fees. Please complete the entire application and return it to the Municipal Clerk’s Office at 6805 Long Beach Boulevard, Brant Beach, NJ 08008.

A complete Business Registration Application should include:

  • Business, then fill out the business section in its entirety.
  • $125 Business Registration Application Fee, made out to Long Beach Township
  • Copy of Certificate of Liability Insurance (it must show your coverage)
  • $100 Insurance Registration Filing Fee, made out to Long Beach Township

Reminder to food establishments with outdoor seating; you must comply with Construction Department regulations as in previous years. We will be out to inspect all establishments to ensure they are compliant with the approved plans at some point within the season, and violations will be issued if necessary. Your food handler permit will still be handled by the Long Beach Island Health Department, and you will continue to deal directly with them regarding that annually.

  • Certificate of Liability Insurance (it must show your coverage)
  • $100 Insurance Registration Filing Fee, made out to Long Beach Township

Long Beach Township, and specifically this Rental Property Registration, has no affiliation with your annual fire inspection that you are required to apply for with the Ocean County Fire Marshal. The link to their application is Resale & Rental Home Inspections | Ocean County Government.
