GATOR Service

Long Beach Township has instituted a program called the “Gator” service, which utilizes six (6) John Deere Gators to assist physically challenged individuals from the street-side beach entrance, bringing them over the dunes, to the beach. This service was started in 2015 covering 106th Street in Haven Beach down to 14th Street in North Beach Haven, due to the increase in dune height, using only one (1) Gator. The service was so well received, that in 2016, the Township added three (3) more Gators to the team and expanded the service area to include North Beach, Brant Beach down thru North Beach Haven and Holgate.
Gator Service will resume in 2025 when the lifeguards are on duty every day.
